Everyday a new public figure comes forward revealing their struggles with depression. It is refreshing to see that the stigma around mental health is finally starting to fade, and no surprise given that depression is one of the most common mental health disorders. However, it was rare that these public figures would ever reveal their treatment plans for managing depression… Until now…
Public Figures Speaking Out
In the past six months, more and more public figures have been speaking out about the efficacy of psychedelic therapy for help in managing and treating depression, anxiety, PTSD, OCD, stress, and even addiction. Whether it is Prince Harry talking about his use of psychedelic therapy to help cope with grief, or NBA All Star Lamar Odom citing ketamine therapy as a way of overcoming addiction, more and more public figures are sharing their experiences. From Kristin Bell, to Seth Rogan and Miley Cyrus, public figures are advocating for the use of psychedelic therapy to help promote healing, spiritual growth, and personal well-being.
Of those, Elon Musk, the world’s richest man, tweeted earlier this week:
It was further reported through The Wall Street Journal that people close to Musk have witnessed him taking small amounts of ketamine to help cope with his own depression.
Elon is not the only one in Silicon Valley taking psychedelics. In fact, a spokeswoman for Founders Fund - known for their investments in Spacex, facebook, airbnb, and Spotify to name a few - said, “Research shows that psychedelics can provide significant mental health benefits, and we support public and private sector efforts to make these drugs safely and legally available.”
Finally, treatment options for depression are no longer limited to traditional means of SSRIs and talk therapy. The stigma around psychedelics is no longer as present, as more and more respected individuals come forward revealing their healing journeys through the use of psychedelic therapy, and in particular ketamine therapy. However, one question remains: is this accessible to the broader public, not just public figures.
Accessible To Everyone
Until recently, access to psychedelic therapy was limited to those who had the proper connections or could afford to spend tens of thousands of dollars on treatment. At Choose Ketamine, we believe that people should have access to clinician-led, safe, and affordable at-home ketamine therapy. We work closely with our clients to define their treatment plan, and meet them every step of the way to promote profound healing and a strong sense of personal well being.
Our treatment packages focus on helping our clients to heal through providing relief from symptoms of depression, anxiety, PTSD, stress, and more. We applaud people like Elon Musk for sharing their positive experiences with ketamine therapy, and hope to see more people come forward with their experiences.
What is Ketamine?
Ketamine is a dissociative anesthetic used medically for induction and maintenance of anesthesia. It is also used as a treatment for depression. Unlike other antidepressants, which can take weeks or months to work, patients who take ketamine often see improvements within just a few hours. Ketamine also appears to sharply decrease thoughts of suicide.
